How To Use Crate To Find and Share Better Content

Do you want your content to be relevant, timely and more engaging?

You’ve come to the right place!

Crate wants to help you deliver the best and most relevant content to your audience on Twitter. We grew tired of searching through newsletters, twitter accounts and blogs to find content worth sharing. So we’ve built a platform that does the digging for us and delivers the best content for you to share!

We do it by taking keywords, domains and usernames that you provide us to make recommendations on what content you should be sharing to your audience.

Let’s start by defining a few things:

A Crate is a group of indicators that we use to find the best content for you online.

Here are a few of the things you can put in a Crate and what we do with them:

Keywords and Phrases

These are words or phrases that describe the topics, types of articles or blog posts that you would like us to deliver.

For example, the keyword: “Digital Strategy” will deliver content that include that phrase. It could be a blog post titled: “Five Things You Should Know Before Creating a Digital Strategy” or an article that simply has “Digital Strategy” written somewhere in the text.

Domains and SubDomains

These are domains that you know have great content on the regular and you would like to share their posts.

For example, if you’re a fan of the content shared by, submit their URL into your Crate and we’ll deliver their best content over the last two weeks.

Twitter Handles From Other Users

Add the Twitter handles like @NeilPatel or @GaryVee and we’ll hunt their tweets to see find the best content they’ve shared in the last two weeks.

For example, if you added the username @Entrepreneur to your Crate, we would find the best link they shared so you can share it to your followers. The same would work for a user like @NeilPatel, @GaryVee or even your own content.

Like Picasso once said, great artist don’t copy – they steal.

Ok, so now that we’ve cleared that all up, let’s talk about how it all work in a nutshell:

But in case you need some more details on exactly how it works, here’s a walkthrough:

Step One: Build a Crate

To build a Crate, click the big red “Build A Crate” button. From there, name your Crate something that is relevant to the type of content you’re going to want us to deliver. If you’re looking for content about Football, call your Crate: “General Football Content.”

Once you’ve named your Crate, start adding indicators into it that will help us find the best content for you. In the example below, the Crate is titled: Entrepreneurs & Business.

Recognizing that Gary Vaynerchuk (@GaryVee on Twitter) is likely one of the most famous entrepreneurs on Twitter, we’re going to use Crate to scan his tweets and find the best content. We’ve added him to our Crate as you see below:


Once you add @GaryVee to your Crate, it shows up on the right hand side like this:

Once you press “Build Crate” we’ll then go out and find the best content he’s shared in the last two weeks.

Want more content? Don’t stress. 

Step Two: Optimize Your Crate

Edit your Crate to have better results by simply clicking the name of your Crate and pressing edit:

From there, start adding more keywords, domains or Twitter handles for us to use to find better content. Here’s an example of us making the Entrepreneurs & Business Crate a bit more intelligent:


Sometimes your Crate will deliver poor results. This is because the keywords, domains or users simply aren’t sharing quality content. In those situations, it’s important that you take advantage of editing your Crates.

Delete keywords that might not be relevant. Delete users who share posts you don’t actually want. Delete, optimize, rinse and repeat.

Step Three: Schedule & Share Content From Your Crate

Once you’ve done this, you will find great content in your stream:

Once you find a post you want to share or schedule, click the share button on the right hand side:

The content will show up in our share dialog and you’ll have a chance to edit, share now or schedule your tweet to go out to all your followers. Read more about slot free spin no deposit. We optimize every tweet with an image because we know that content with images drive more engagement.

Sometimes you might want to see the blog post, infographic or article before actually sharing it. Click the title of an article and be taken directly to the webpage or domain.

How To Schedule Your Content Using Buffer

Crate also offers you with the ability to transfer your content directly into your Buffer account. To do this, you want to visit your profile (top right corner) and connect your Buffer account:

Once that’s completed, you will be able to press the “Buffer” button on your content stream to add the posts directly to your queue.
